This has been our favourite place to stay, my husband and I stayed for a week and worked remotely during the day, enjoying the beautiful scenery, river rushing past and bird song all around us while enjoying some fishing in the mornings and at lunch with afternoon walks along the river. Great care has been put into the cabins with luxurious bedding and lovely fine touches throughout. Frans and his partner are very friendly hosts and were quick to help with anything we needed. While staying, we were already planning on when we'd be back!

This place is amazing. The view from the cabins are amazing and you can see lots of birds. If you feeling up to it you can go for a walk along the river or fishing or tubing down the river. It's small currently only having 2 cabins and in the process of building a 3rd. Frans is so friendly and helpful in everyway. I would definitely recommend a few nights of quite at this beautiful place

Such an exciting place to be in terms of what's on offer in these natural surroundings but also calming and relaxing. I wish he had booked it for longer we loved it so much. You may compare this glamping but it's so much better, both in terms of comfort and every need having been catered for. Our cabin seemed so well thought through in terms of space and having everything you might want. We stayed in some 5* hotels on this holiday, none compared to what Frans & Louise offered us here. We desperately want to return!

Zwei unvergessliche Nächte in traumhafter Umgebung😍 Unser Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft war einfach wunderbar! Die Lage direkt am Blyde River ist atemberaubend und man fühlt sich sofort wie Zuhause. Das Reservat lädt zu ausgedehnten Spaziergängen ein, bei denen man Giraffen, Zebras und andere Tiere beobachten kann. Der kurze Weg zum Fluss ist perfekt für einen morgendlichen Spaziergang und an heißen Tagen sorgt ein Bad im Fluss für die nötige Abkühlung. Frans war ein hervorragender Gastgeber. Er war stets hilfsbereit, kommunikativ und hat dafür gesorgt, dass unserem Aufenthalt an nichts fehlte. Wenn ihr in der Nähe seit dann bucht dieses einmalige Erlebnis💓

Das Hidden Valley war wunderschön. Wir fühlten uns in der Riverfront Cabin One sehr wohl. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir besuchten auch Jessica, das Hippo und durften ihr Neugeborenes (7 Tage alt) bewundern. Am Abend kamen auch wilde Hippos in den Flussabschnitt direkt vor unserer Hütte. Alles in Allem war es wunderbar. Der holprige Weg zur Unterkunft zahlt sich auf jeden Fall aus!

I was lucky enough to experience this beautiful hidden gem. breathtaking scenery and majestic sounds of water rushing by. Accommodation has thoughtout touches that just makes you feel special beautiful wildlife wonderful owners a piece of heaven on earth!

What an amazing place!! Truly beautiful setting with the cabins overlooking the water. Best place to relax and just get away! Super friendly hosts and the river is pristine! We had originally booked 3 nights but loved it so much we ended up booking another 2 nights. We really appreciated all the little touches the to the accommodation and the bathroom is great! My husband couldn't stay away from the river and did some nice fishing. Really enjoyed being here and will definitely be back! 10 stars!

We had the privilege of staying in Cabin One at The Hidden Valley this weekend and it was an amazing experience. Louise and Frans are wonderful hosts and our every need was taken care of. They have mountain bikes, a canoe, inner tubes and even fishing equipment. The cabin is stocked with books in case you forgot yours. There is a freezer available should you need it. And best of all, should you want to, like I did, you can just sit on the stoep and watch the river go by. We will definitely be returning. The Hidden Valley is world class at very reasonable rates.

If its heaven you're after then The Hidden Valley is the place to be. Tubing down the river, gin and tonic in hand, is a must do. Our hosts Frans and Louise go the extra mile. we will be back

The Hidden Valley is a truly unique stay. We had an incredible time in the most beautiful surroundings and with so many different activities, there is never a moment of boredom. The cabins are cozy and comfortable with many amenities. The Nespresso machine was a lovely surprise! Louise and Frans are such helpful, friendly and accomodating hosts. I will certainly be returning soon!

We spent a very relaxing weekend in Cabin One at The Hidden Valley. Louise and Frans were superb hosts and made us feel most welcome. Being down on the magnificent Blyde River is a real treat. The atmosphere is magical and we made the most of it by exploring the well maintained paths along the banks and tubing across the pools and down the gentle rapids. Dis n fabulous plek ek en my vrou was daar gewees vir n week met ons wittebrood en dis net een amazing plekkie en die oom Frans en tannie Louise is twee wonderlikke mense. What an incredible experience!! The accommodation is beautiful, the setting is breathtaking, the owners are delightful and the activities are so much fun. 2 nights is far too short. Just returned from a weekend at The Hidden Valley. It was such a wonderful and magical place to be that we just had to stay a third night. Frans and Louise are amazing hosts, always around to assist if needed and very welcoming. The cabin is super comfortable, equipped with all you need and the view from the balcony is charming. Nothing beats the sound of a beautiful river flowing. Walking along the river bank is like being in a tropical forest and further up the hill you are in the bush, nose to nose with the giraffe. If you ever wish to drop off the planet and feel that the world does not exist, this is the place and paradise for you. Thank you Louise and Frans for making it such a special weekend.

Stayed at Hidden valley last weekend. The hosts Frans and Louise are awesome. What a weekend. Swam, river rafting with tubes and caught fish. The hiking next to the river is beautiful. Unfortunate only saw the pel fishing owl in flight, so no photo. The cabins are superb and everything there you need. Riverview on both. No wonder it is called the hidden valley.

A beautiful gem just a stone throw away from Hoedspruit town. If you want to relax and spend some quality time with your family out in the nature and along the beautiful blyde River, look no further. This is the place to retreat too if you want peace and quiet to unwind and find yourself again. The family can enjoy tubing along the river, fishing and cycling or walking in the bush where you could find some giraffe and other small antelope. The accommodation was amazing and it has everything you need for self-catering. The host, Frans and Louise are extremely friendly and very helpful. Definitely a must visit to every nature lover out there. Highly recommended

Hierdie plek verdien werklik 20|10. Onbeskryflike natuurskoon. Frans en Louise is die hartlikste, vriendelikste mense wat omgee en dit blyk duidelik aan die superskoon en netjiese "cabins". Aandag is geskenk aan elke detail. Wonderlike plek, kan nie wag om weer te gaan.

Beautiful pics and they do not lie. Hidden Valley is the best place to drop off the planet and forget that the big, bad world exists. Highly recommended :)

What a beautiful spot. We recently had a lovely weekend there with our two dogs. The cabin was super clean and comfortable, and the pathways next to the river are very well maintained. Very relaxing atmosphere. One truly feels close to nature at this little piece of paradise. Frans & Louise were excellent hosts and made sure that we had everything we needed. We highly recommend The Hidden Valley, and can't wait to go back.

I had had quite a hectic couple of weeks before this stay and the Hidden Valley was the restful tonic I needed for the last weekend before heading home. I actually didn't feel the need to go anywhere as Fran encouraged me to walk the property and see the amazing wildlife that abounds. The riverside location was peaceful and just reading books was enough, listening to the river outside. Spotted some lovely birds including an African Wood Owl and a rare African Finfoot as well as a Genet right from the balcony and could hear the hippos, but sadly they remained illusive to see. Fran was full of interesting information and conversation and very kindly asked me if I'd like to see a huge python shedding its skin not so far from the property (hope that doesn't put people off!) but for me it was super exciting to see. Giraffes walk past the balcony too! The setting was better than the photos show and the accommodation was well appointed. Fran and Louise couldn't have been more welcoming.

Louise's is truly a hidden gem. The pictures don't do it justice. It is beautiful, serene and right up on the river bank. Both Frans and Louise are very friendly and proactive. Their directions were spot on and they made sure that we lacked for nothing, firewood included, after we forgot our charcoal at home. If you must have regrets in life, let not booking this beautiful place be one of them. My biggest regret was not booking it for longer, however I intend to go back for a full on recharge. Words truly cannot explain how beautiful this place is, you must experience it yourself.

What a beautiful and magical place. Frans and Louise are wonderful hosts, very considerate and helpful. We also very much enjoyed the fresh eggs from the hens that wander around. Would highly recommend!

Die Unterkunft ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht und sehr sauber. Die Lage direkt am Fluss ist traumhaft und obwohl wir nur zwei Nächte dort waren, kamen wir sehr gut zur Ruhe. Auf dem Gelände hatten wir das Glück Giraffen und Zebras auf dem Gelände zu sehen. Frans und Louise sind ausgesprochen herzlich! Es war die schönste Unterkunft, in der wir je waren und wir hoffen sehr, wieder kommen zu können.

Our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. Franz and Louise went above and beyond, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The terrace was a peaceful haven with breathtaking views, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxation. We loved that giraffes, zebras, hippos and many other animals just roamed around. The property itself was beautifully decorated and immaculate, a testament to the host's commitment to our comfort. Just wow, this is the stay we liked the most during our whole SA trip. The location is wonderful, and the cabin has everything you need and is also super clean. We would definitely go back there.

My husband and I had a lovely stay! The location was superb and the cabin was very thoughtfully furnished and stocked. We loved the big bath! Frans made sure all our needs were taken care of. We saw far more game than we anticipated (zebra, giraffes, wildebeests and impala).

Would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Blyde. BEYOND BEAUTIFUL in every way! Louise and Frans were the most incredible, kind and generous hosts & we had the most magical stay. We went on day trips to Kruger National Park and I would be lying if I said I was not more excited for returning back to this Airbnb to go on walks and a cycle among giraffes and zebras. A true hidden gem, a perfect spot in nature to unwind from work and everyday's business. Truly kind and friendly hosts, Frans as well as Louise. Highly recommended to people who like enjoy nature in a nice quiet environment. And in a walking distance you are to 'meet up' with giraffes, wilde beasts, zebra's, impala's…or you watch the hippo strolling by at the riverbanks..pure joy.

What a great place! It's tucked away right on the river so there are plenty of activities like tubing and walking trails. It's situated in a wildlife park so we saw giraffes and zebra on our way out. The place itself was very clean and had all the amenities (and more) while being surrounded by nature in the bush. They were so kind to leave us fresh eggs and fruit! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A gem of a place! We truly loved every moment here…it's so full of charm, with everything you need for a comfortable stay, amidst a natural setting that takes your breath away, with the wonderful river to swim in and giraffes around the corner that we encountered on our walks and bicycle trips. Just all filled with wonder, thank you Louise and Frans for sharing your peace of paradise with us, we can't wait to come back here one day.

We cannot recommended this hidden gem highly enough! Everything about it was perfect – the location, the cabin, the homely touches, and the activities made available on-site. We took the two bikes for a cycle around the reserve and ended up cycling with giraffe, against the beautiful mountainous backdrop! It was a cycle to remember. The communication with Frans leading up the stay was great, and he was readily available for anything we needed during our stay. We loved our time there, and we will definitely return when we're next in the area again.

The place was exactly as shown, with clear instructions on how to get there and exceptional hospitality. If you're looking to get away and be immersed in nature, I would highly recommend this place. We'll definitely be back!

I wish I could give ten stars, AMAZING. Frans and Louise, who are great, very attentive hosts, have really put their heart into this place and it shows. The cabin is very comfortable and tastefully decorated, complete with a welcoming plate of fresh fruit. We sat for hours on the balcony drinking koffie, just watching the resident King Fisher catching crabs or reading a book (the patio chairs are sooo comfortable). Tranquil does not begin to describe this place, you are completely immersed in nature. They even have two bicycles that you can use to roam the reserve and tubes and a canoe to float on the river. Our plan was to go to the Kruger for a day and we couldn't bring ourselves to leave the place. They have amazing trails for walking, cycling and running, which includes a trail along the river where we even spotted a few hippos. This has been our fav getaway this year!!

The most amazing little getaway. If you are looking to switch off and unwind then this is the place for you. The room is perfect for 2 and the bathroom/bath is to die for. Truly worth every cent.

Fantastic place and hosts. A bit of a drive to get there, off the beaten path, but it's so worth it! Amazing location right on the river. We floated down it in the tubes provided. We also enjoyed walking along it in the morning. Hosts were excellent – extremely accommodating and helpful. Bikes provided to explore the property/reserve were a lot of fun – saw lots of animals – giraffes and zebras. We drove into Kruger one day but it was difficult to leave such a nice spot!

The Hidden Valley: Riverfront Cabin Two. This place was just what we hoped and expected from the posting! It is a beautiful and secluded spot that has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing few days by the river. Highly recommended!

A slice of heaven, we loved sitting on the deck taking in the beautiful views, going on walks and swimming in the river. The cabin has everything you need and feels like your own private tree house. Louise & Frans are friendly hosts that make you feel right at home. It's such a hidden gem we almost don't want to share the secret because we plan to go back again.

How to describe paradise? After my stay here I will use 'Hidden Valley' as a synonym. Not only because of the untouched, pristine river landscape, and a cabin with everything you need (+ super comfy bed), but also because of Louise and Frans. They are more like angels than hosts. From the first contact, throughout the time being here they did everything (!!!) to make our stay outstandingly perfect and an unforgettable one. Boetie (my dog) felt as much in love as I did and we HIGHLY recommend the place (even though I would love to keep it a secret). If you're looking for an escape from the world's noise and recharge your batteries – come here. If you're looking for a place to hide, but still need to work – come here (wifi is good). I will definitely be back, so rather request a booking today. You won't regret – PROMISED!

What a wonderful stay at this special place…beautiful nature surrounding us in the beautiful cottage that had everything we could need with special touches all over…coffee machine, already stacked firepit, rusks, fruit and of course the excellent hosts. We relaxed and enjoyed every moment.

If we could give this place a 10-star rating we definitely would. Between us, a 5 year old and our dog, we had the best time ever. The hosts are so so kind and accommodating. The cabin was so beautiful with everything we needed. Amazing bird watching spot, and saw lots of giraffe and antelope, and we were so privileged to spot a hippo and porcupine too. The river was perfect for us and our 5 year old to swim and do tube riding. They have easy to walk trails along the river under the shade of the lush trees, and quite a few scenically placed benches along the river, to enjoy a sundowner or book. This place is a true hidden gem. Especially with its exquisite nature offerings, wildlife and the exclusivity of these well placed cabins. We will definitely be back as often as we can.

Incredible area and so much to do. A lovely stoepie to relax and enjoy coffee, a beautiful open braai area and of course the view and sounds from the river made it extra special. We even went tubing on the river and enjoyed a couple of beers in the shallow pools. Overall an amazing weekend and would highly recommend staying there. Louise and Frans are wonderful hosts and easy to contact.

So very beautiful stay in a little house in the woods… comfy, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Frans & Louise are the perfect hosts. Great walks along the river.. Wow! This place is incredible! We will definitely be back as soon as we can! The hosts are super friendly and very helpful. Everything was super clean and neat and well thought out. I literally could not find fault with one thing! The cabin is perfect and cozy, while the river front is super relaxing. You can also go for beautiful relaxing walks along the neatly and well kept pathways next to the river. At night enjoy the sounds of the bush while sitting in your neatly cleared out and spacious braai area. This place is a must go for anyone who wants to relax in nature. You won't be dissatisfied!

Absolutely beautiful little place in the woods! With the cabins situated along the river its a perfect relaxing atmosphere for a weekend break. The owners are super friendly and helpful, and one can enjoy a couple of fun activities like fishing, canoeing and also a riverine walking trails. Definitely a must visit!

Lieflike kuierplek vir gesinswegbreek. Ons was baie beïndruk met die verblyf by The Hidden Valley. Die hutte is stylvol en gemaklik ingerig met alles wat nodig is. Die omringende natuurskoon was pragtig.

Heerlike wegbreek. Wow, ons naweek was 'n heerlike wegbreek. Die eenheid is waarlik ten volle ingerig, alles wat jy nodig het en heerlike koffie. Die bemarkingsfoto's is mooi, maar die eenheid en omgewing is nog mooier. Ons is al klaar reg om nog 'n naweek by die akkommodasie te bespreek.

Vrede en rustigheid vir jou siel. Ongelooflike verblyf.

Dis soos 'n stukkie paradys. Alles is gerig op gaste se gerief en genot. Dis 'n juweel in die bos. Ons wil weer (en weer) gaan!

The location is stunning. Frans and Louise are very attentive. The small luxuries, comforts, and thoughtful touches they have put into the place for their guests are amazing. It's truly a place to unwind and recharge the soul. I will definitely be back.

Great location, beautiful view from the cabin. The place is like paradise to me. My husband and I enjoyed the breathtaking nature surrounding the place, we rode bikes, took a walk along the river and enjoyed a nice evening braai just gazing at the stars and listening to the sound of nature. Our host Frans is kindhearted. What a generous host, his warm hospitality made our stay a pleasure. The room was supremely comfortable.

Aangename ervaring. Baie lekker gekuier. Die huisies is luuks toegerus, asemrowende omgewing, sal dit beslis aanbeveel.

Vir ons was dit 'n wondelike tyd van afskakel, rus, die natuur geniet en herlaai. Frans en Louise is so gasvry, vriendelik en bedagsaam. Hulle doen beslis die ekstras om dit so gerieflik moontlik en spesiaal te maak – voel sommer dadelik tuis. Die chalet is skoon en mooi en toegerus met alles wat nodig is (geen beurtkrag nie). Die rivier is ongelooflik en die staproete langs die rivier en natuurlik die mooi bome het ons geniet. Vir die natuurliefhebbers sal ek dit beslis aanbeveel.

Lieflike plek om batterye te herlaai. Frans en Louise het uit hulle pad gegaan om ons tuis te laat voel. Die plekkie het als wat mens nodig het met 'n paar ekstra bederfies, en is baie smaakvol toegerus. Die fietsry, en ontspan met binnebande op die rivier, asook visvang, in 'n pragtige, rustige omgewing, was net wat ons nodig gehad het.

Heerlik! Ons het 'n heerlike naweek gehad by Hidden Valley. Lekker rustig in die natuur. Ons het gaan stap, fiets gery en ontspan in die rivier op die tubes – tubes en fietse word voorsien. Die eerste aand se braaihout was ook ingesluit. Asook vars plaaseiers in die yskas en vars vrugte in die kamer, en 'n bak vol tuisgebakte gemmerkoekies. Kan beslis The Hidden Valley vir enige iemand aanbeveel.

Amazing. I love this spot in Hoedspruit, have been there a couple of times, and by far my favourite. Frans and his wife is friendly, checks in to make sure you don't need anything. Absolutely beautiful spot on the bank of the Blyde River. Room is beautiful and very comfy. I can't wait for my next visit with them.

Dit was 'n ervaring om so na aan die natuur te wees. Vreedsaam. Die huisie het als wat jy nodig het, al die geriewe in die natuur. Ons was verwelkom en het dadelik tuis gevoel. Die stilte is ongelooflik en jy kan behoorlik rus weg van die gejaagde lewe. Die eienaars doen baie moeite. Ons het dit ongelooflik baie geniet.

Wow, en nomaals wow. Onvergeetlike tydjie so in die rustigheid van die natuur, lekker stil en rustig so teen die rivier. Dit so baie geniet en sal baie beslis weer daarnatoe wil wegbreek so gou as moontlik. Beveel dit aan, 10 uit 10.

Asemrowende natuurskoon langs die pragtige Blyderivier met verskeidenheid van vis, voëls en wildlewe. Die chalets was eenvoudig tog stylvol ingerig en baie prakties en baie skoon. Die eienaars is baie vriendelik, gasvry en behulpsaam. Ideale wegbreeknaweek indien jy soek na 'n bietjie afsondering in die skone natuur.

Fantasties. Die area is ongelooflik mooi. Die huis was mooi versier en het alles besit wat mens nodig het. Sal 100% weer soontoe gaan.

What a fabulous little place, right on the banks of the River! The Hidden Valley is the kind of place where you'd like to bring your family for a whole holiday. There's two cottages, very well appointed, and then that slow-flowing river. For the little ones, there is the stretch right in front of the cottages where the river is very shallow and where they can safely play. A bit further on are lovely deep pools that would be great in summer. The cottages have everything you need to float, canoes, tubes, you name it. There's also an undercover deck with lovely sofas and a big kitchen where the whole group can relax and play some of the board games on offer. The place is idyllic and for bird-watchers it's a paradise. Frans and Louise are also great hosts

Bederf naby die natuur. Baie aandag aan detail. Hidden Valley is 'n besonderse mooi plek. Baie aandag gegee aan detail om die kuier so lekker en gemaklik as moontlik te maak. Alles is aan gedink – selfs 'n paar opsies van kanoes om die rivier te kan geniet. Lekker kuierplekkies onder groot bome. Behoorlike kos vir die siel. Kinders het dit ook baie geniet. Visvang ook heerlik. Ons sal definitief weer kom.

Lekker naweek by Hidden Valley. Ons het aanvanklik die artikel in die koerant gesien en besluit om dit te probeer. Soos my man gese het, nie Hidden Valley nie maar Hidden Eden. Ons het so lekker gebly en die eienaars is vriendelik en behulpsaam. En ja die voëllewe is ongelooflik. Ek het sommer 10 voëls by my lysie gevoeg en was so gelukkig met die Bosloerie as een. Daar is ook lekker staproetes en jy kan met hartelus van al jou ekstra energie ontslae raak. Hier is jy naby aan die natuur en kan jy kan vergeet van die donkerwolk wat die virus oor ons hang.

Rustige wegbreekkans op die oewer van die Blyderivier. Hierdie is die perfekte wegbreekgeleentheid van die stadslewe. Daar is net twee houthuisies by The Hidden Valley, so as jy ander mense wil sien gedurende jou kuier, moet jy hulle saambring. As jy nie mense verkies nie, is die wild volop in die natuurreservaat waar enige wandeling deur die park versekerd is van 'n ontmoeting met 'n kameelperd of sebra. Die huisies kyk uit op die Blyderivier, waarvan mens 'n hele strook het waarlangs, waarin en waarop jy kan gaan ontspan met staproete, poele en binnebande waarmee jy kan afdryf op die rivier. In Hoedspruit se hitte, is die afkoel van 'n laatmiddag swem broodnodig. Frans en Louise het hier 'n stukkie van die bos omskep in 'n tuiste wat mens mens nie kan miskyk gedurende jou verkenning van die Blyderiviervallei nie. Ek kan nie wag om weer te gaan kuier nie.

Indeed it is a hidden valley. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. What a experience. This gem in Hoedspruit is just awesome. The hosts are the best. Friendly, making sure everything is fine, joined us in river rafting and caring. The cabins are exceptionally well maintained, the furniture excellent and there is everything one needs. We did river rafting with tubes and fished – even caught bass which we released and the the paths next to the river is well maintained. A good spot for birding – even saw the Pel's fishing owl in flight.

Wonderlike, rustige wegbreek langs die Blyderivier. Het elke oomblik by Hidden Valley geniet. Die eienaars het so baie moeite gedoen om seker te maak dat jy niks meer nodig het nie en het aan alles gedink. Jy kan sien dat hulle baie omgee vir die plek en dit is wonderlik om daarin te kan deel. Die ligging is pragtig langs die rivier tussen die massiewe bome.

Beste vakansie in 63 jaar. Kan jou niks vertel nie, jy moet dit ervaar. Die eienaars is ongelooflik vriendelik en ons kan geen slegte terugvoering gee nie. Ons hoop om saam vriende weer voor einde Desember te gaan.
